Thank you for your interest in volunteering for an NBAA Standing Committee. Made up of committed, talented and knowledgeable volunteers, NBAA's Standing Committees work together on behalf of the NBAA Membership to promote business aviation safety, access, professional development, operational excellence and security. Make no mistake about it, NBAA Member participation on standing committees is vital to the success of business aviation well into the future.

Membership on NBAA Standing Committees is based on needs at the time of application and is jointly approved by the Chair and the NBAA Professional Staff Liaison of the particular committee. Membership is for a three year period and renewable at the discretion of the Committee Chair and Staff Liaison. This renewal can occur up to three times for a total maximum of nine years on a committee.

Should your application be accepted for a position on the committee this year, you will be asked to participate in one of the Access Committee Subcommittees. Each Work Group has various Task Groups under them. Once accepted on to the Access Committee further contact with you will determine which, if any task groups you will participate in. The Business Aviation Management Committee meets three times annually: (1) at the Winter Leadership Conference, (2) during the summer at various locations and (3) during the fall at the NBAA Convention.

Membership participation at BAMC meetings is critical to the effectiveness of the organization. As a member of the Committee, attendance is required at the Leadership Conference and strongly recommended at the other meetings.

The Committee convenes 2 times a year at the NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention and at the Flight Attendants Conference.

The Maintenance Committee has numerous subcommittees and working groups addressing issues surrounding asset and organization management, aircraft, facility and personnel. All members are engaged in initiatives that provide value to NBAA’s members, with specific areas of focus addressed within the subcommittees. Subcommittee deliverables are disseminated via numerous NBAA communication pieces and topics of key interest are presented at dedicated sessions during NBAA events.

Please review the Maintenance Committee Planning Guide which contains member performance expectations. Committee participation is reserved on the applicant’s individual basis, their experience, knowledge and potential contributions. As an example, committee participation is not extended to a specific company or their representative.

Schedulers and Dispatchers Committee term limits vary depending on membership status. Due to the competitive number of qualified candidates, a letter of support from your supervisor is both welcome and encouraged as it may assist in the final selection process of new committee members. The Tax Committee has numerous Working Groups addressing a variety of tax, regulatory and risk management topics.
